Requirements:
Minimum grade 12 education; Post secondary education is an asset
Ability to effectively consult with clients by phone and email
Previous sales experience
Ability to recommend multi-media advertising solutions-print and on-line
Team player with a positive attitude
Fluently billingual (English and French)
High proficiency level working in Micro-soft office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, Photoshop)
Outbound calling experience is an asset

Canada’s Oil Sands Innovation Alliance (COSIA) is an alliance of oil sands producers focused on accelerating the pace of improvement in environmental performance in Canada’s oil sands through collaborative action and innovation.
We are recruiting a position of ‘Communications Advisor’ on a 12 month fixed-term contract basis.This position will report to the Head of Communications and Stakeholder Engagement.
Experience Required:
2-3 years’ experience of working in a fast paced corporate communications environment.
Job Requirements:
Aptitude to partner with other departments/organizations and at varying levels of staff seniority.
Strong attention to detail.
Able to be flexible with work hours (potential overtime due to workload and deadlines).
Having a communications related University degree will be considered an advantage.
Oil and gas industry knowledge will be considered an advantage.
A positive, professional attitude, mature approach and high energy levels.
Ability to express facts and ideas in a clear, convincing and organised manner.
Responsibilities:
Delivering COSIA’s reputation and engagement strategy through the development and delivery of tactical materials.
Supporting the Head of Communications & Stakeholder Engagement in delivering bi-weekly meetings, including the setting of agendas and recording actions.
Event coordination and support (including member company town halls and engagements with special publics and media).
Overseeing the delivery of regular management meetings including developing agendas and recording minutes.
General communication and media support, including information gathering and presentations.
Developing copy for the in-house newsletter, project case studies and social media updates.
Posting external web updates via a content management tool.
Recognizing opportunities for improving website performance through the analysis of site statistics.
Refining corporate messaging used by leadership.
Other duties as required.

Requirements:
A university degree in engineering, science or business (with technical experience)
Ten years of experience in, or working with, industry.
A demonstrated ability to work with multiple parties and stakeholders to develop and implement projects and initiatives with successful outcomes
Excellent oral and written communication skills that includes public speaking
Demonstrated and excellent planning, and organizational skills
Able to form and maintain partnerships and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, industry, academic, government and other representatives
Strong written and oral communication, and computer skills
Ability to plan and organize both small and large outcome oriented strategic meetings
Strong working knowledge of strategic planning, budgeting, finance, market research, member relationship management,
A technical background in one of the four EPAs and an ability to identify innovative solutions, people or partnerships that could address oil sands environmental challenges
Must Be/Have:
Able to remain calm under pressure
Able to easily adapt to change
Hold a valid driver’s license and able to travel
Able to attend events and other off-site functions (estimated overnight travel will be a minimum of 40 nights per annum)

On-board new Associate Members to ensure a high level of understanding of the role of COSIA Associate Members and COSIA operations
Manage the Associate Member renewal process
Manage the Associate Member budget and contribute an Associate Member component to the COSIA annual Strategic Plan
Compile and analyze existing and potential Associate Member organizational capacity and strengths with an aim to identify organizations with focused innovation efforts to fill COSIA strategic gaps
Develop models and methods for highly effective interaction between Associate Members and the COSIA EPAs
Help recruit new Associate Members of particular strategic value for COSIA from around the globe
Track external activities such as workshops and conferences to ensure strategic linkages between Associate Members and COSIA EPAs
Update Associate Member policies and procedures and make recommendations for future development
Manage inquiries for Associate Member information
Lead Associate Member strategic planning
Act as liaison between Associate Members and COSIA EPAs
Develop Associate Member Program Membership in support of COSIA’s Strategic Plan
Update Associate Member orientation (on-boarding) package of documents
Perform other duties and responsibilities as necessary for a fully functional Associate Member Program
